Job summary

The Northwest R-I School District seeks a paraprofessional to assist in providing a well-organized program for students. Responsibilities include aiding teachers with classroom management, preparing materials, and reinforcing prior lessons.

Qualifications

• 60 hours of college credit and Paraprofessional Praxis (ParaPro) or DESE 20-hour substitute cert preferred.
• Missouri substitute certification preferred.
• Experience with young people.
• Prior school setting experience desired.
• Experience with educational applications (copying machine and computer skills) desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in maintaining classroom organization and managing students.
• Prepare teaching materials and reinforce previously taught material.
• Implement district policies, rules, and IEPs for assigned students.
• Perform clerical tasks as assigned.
• Meet or escort students at designated times and ensure safety.
• Provide needed personal, medical, and educational support as required.
