The Upward Bound Project is a federally funded program to encourage post-secondary preparation of high school students from low-income families who are first-generation college-bound students. The summer academy consists of an intensive, six-week in-person academic program during which students receive high school enrichment instruction in English, financial literacy, foreign language, mathematics, and science. Supervised recreation, guidance, peer advising, and career exploration are also provided. Teachers will assist with the coordination, design, and production of classes for Upward Bound Academy in classrooms on campus. Minimum Qualifications: Three years experience as a classroom assistant in a related academic area, or equivalency; knowledge of a variety of teaching methods; thorough knowledge of related academic subjects; and demonstrated knowledge of teaching methods and communication skills are required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.
