Job summary

Valley Youth House is seeking an Education Specialist (FTS) to lead opioid prevention education across ASD middle and high schools in Allentown area. You will collaborate with school staff to identify at-risk students and support prevention activities, including developing materials and engaging families with digital resources.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a human services field and a mature, professional approach.

Position: FTS - Education Specialist (Opioid Prevention Campaign) - ($24hr to $26hr)

Location: Allentown (ASD) Middle/High Schools

Essential Functions of the Education Specialist:
  • To facilitate opioid prevention education across all middle and high schools within ASD.
  • TO collaborate with school points of contact to identify high-risk students/families and support sustainment of small groups and general opioid prevention education.
  • To develop campaign materials to promote opioid prevention across school and community settings, including monitoring and engaging parents and caregivers access to digital educational resources
  • To meet regularly with their assigned supervisor to review the services being provided.
  • To attend and actively engage in team meetings and professional development opportunities as assigned.
  • To complete and submit documentation in a timely manner, including pre and post assessments for all educational activities and district requirements.
Minimum Qualifications of the Education Specialist:
  • They must possess at least a bachelor's degree in a human services discipline and must never have been convicted of child abuse offenses.
  • The candidate shall be a mature individual with sound judgment who represents an appropriate role model to staff, youth, and families.
  • The candidate's race, sex, religion, or state of physical disability shall not be considered when hiring for this position.
Physical Requirements of the Education Specialist:
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Constantly
