Job summary

Rocketship Public Schools in California seeks Education Specialists (Moderate/Severe Support Needs) to ensure every student receives an excellent education. Specialists work with students with significant support needs, including intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioral challenges, while collaborating with general educators and families to create inclusive classrooms.

You will manage IEP caseloads and coordinate with related service providers, delivering instruction aligned with STAR

Qualifications

• Hold a B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• Hold a valid Moderate/Severe Support Needs credential, or be eligible for a Provisional Internship Permit (PIP) or Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP), which requires CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. CPR certification must be active or candidate must be willing to complete CPR certification prior to start date at Rocketship.
• Must maintain active and in-good-standing credential status throughout employment with Rocketship

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction and inclusion per IEPs and ensure annual growth for each Rocketeer.
• Lead and coach paraprofessionals to ensure high-quality implementation of accommodations and supports.
• Own and manage an IEP caseload in compliance with IDEA and state law.
• Collaborate with psychologists and related service providers for evaluations and assessments.
• Communicate progress, goals, and accommodations with families and team members.
