Job summary

Rocketship Public Schools is seeking an Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate Support Needs) to deliver inclusive education and IEP-aligned instruction at a Rocketeer school in California. You will co-teach with general education teachers, support families, and collaborate with related service providers to ensure services meet students’ needs.

The role emphasizes a strong emphasis on behavior supports, data-driven planning, and ongoing coaching.

Qualifications

• Hold a B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid Special Education teaching credential (Mild/Moderate or equivalent) in the state of employment.
• Must maintain active and in-good-standing credential status throughout employment with Rocketship.
• Hold a valid Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate Support Needs) credential or be eligible for PIP/STSP with CPR.
• At least 2 years of experience working with children in special education, behavioral support, or related settings.

Responsibilities

• Manage an IEP caseload in accordance with state regulations.
• Draft and write compliant IEPs and facilitate IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with psychologists and related service providers to ensure appropriate services.
• Communicate with families and team members on IEP goals and progress.
• Provide inclusion-focused instruction and co-teach with general education teachers.
• Uphold IDEA compliance and maintain accurate records.
