Responsibilities:
Education Services Clerk will provide family services support for the Tribal Student Services (TSS) Casework and Advocacy (CWA) Program. This position will adhere to policies, procedures, data tracking, ongoing monitoring and other applicable measurable goals and objectives. Responsible for implementing the objectives and activities; and assists with parent, family or other educational events, trainings, workshops as approved by management. Education Services Clerk will serve to support and act as liaison between lead employees; connect students with the support services, advocacy and resources needed to succeed in education.
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Support EPISD Tribal student attendance internal process.
- Pick up and drop puff documents to EPISD and College/Universities
- Provide transportation for K-12 student to education tutorial services, and for post-secondary student in a case-by-case basis.
- Provide Caseworkers and other designees with information regarding events held off and on reservation for all KTTT students.
- Support student Tribal Leave process.
- Support After School Tutorial Program staff.
- Support TSS CWA with Credit Recovery and ASAP Tutorial program from EPISD when applicable.
- Support during Education enrollment, registration and recruitment of applicable programs but not limited to; Head Start, Childcare, TSS, Tutorial Services.
- Education Services Clerk are expected to work in the best interest of Tribal students.
- Ensure that policies and procedures are followed and implemented in regard to district communication.
- Maintain confidentiality of all educational related programs and student data and intervention.
- Support case workers and data quality to ensure the data and safe keeping of all KTTT Tribal documents.
- Will provide student supports with the necessary referrals- community, inter-agency, etc.
- Ensure that KTTT student safety is at the center of all practices, events, and other services
- Uphold the ethics determined by the KTTT Education committee and Tribal administration (education and other).
- Document all communications into titanium system and conference reports
- Other duties, responsibilities and directives may be assigned by designated supervisor or leadership.
Knowledge, skills and abilities for the position:
- Must have strong computer skills; and skilled in excel, word, PowerPoint, and other office software.
- Proficient and able to use office machines, printers, PC, copier and calculator.
- Mathematics: Ability to perform simple arithmetic for timekeeping and counting calculations.
- Language & Communication: Strong Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively with others.
- Must have the skills and ability to interpret and provide instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form. Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to understand, provide and follow written and verbal direction.
- Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment under pressure.
- Must be a self-starter who is motivated, driven, and takes initiative.
- Must be willing to invest time to study complex guidance, research, and obtain the knowledge necessary to succeed within the role
- Must have good customer service skills and courteous to patients, staff and visitors.
- Must be able to document and track projects; under pressure and in a timely manner.
- Must be adaptable and able to shift and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Employee must demonstrate ability to solve problems in a fast-paced setting and deal with a variety of variables under pressure;
- Strong organizational skills to include records management, filing, other documentation and record keeping.
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on call as required.
- Must be detailed orientated and possess strong ability to document and report with detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage and maintain security of confidential data and information.
- Cultural awareness of and sensitivity to Kickapoo traditions, religious beliefs and way of life.
- Excellent advocacy skills and ability to form collaborative relationships.
Supervision exercised:
This position does not carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Education/experience requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: High School or GED Diploma computer skills, ability to complete office documentation and forms, and/or Minimum of one-year experience working in a professional setting or customer service-oriented setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 40+ college hours in education or related field and; Minimum of two years’ experience working in a high paced educational setting or customer service-oriented setting.
