Job summary

DLA Architects in Itasca, IL seeks an experienced Project Architect to lead complex educational projects from concept through construction administration. You will guide project teams, coordinate with consultants, and manage client relationships to deliver facilities that support student success.

Ideal candidates have 8–15+ years of architectural experience, including 5+ years as a technical project architect, and a strong command of building codes, standards, and BIM workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture.
• Licensed Architect preferred.
• 8–15+ years of architectural experience, including 5+ years as technical project architect.
• Educational project experience (K-12 or higher ed) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project from the conceptual design phase through construction administration.
• Coordinate project teams, consultants, and client representatives.
• Ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design workshops.
• Attend Construction Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
