Job summary

West 4th Strategy seeks an Education Program Manager for the National Coast Guard Museum in New London, CT. The role oversees daily delivery of K-12 and adult education in the STEM/Mission Center and Innovation Lab, guiding staff and volunteers and coordinating field trips.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in education or a related field, 4–6 years of museum education experience, NGSS knowledge, and strong collaboration with schools and military liaisons.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, museum studies, public history, or a STEM field.
• 4–6 years of progressive museum education experience.
• Proven ability to interact professionally with school administrators and community groups.
• Schedule flexibility to oversee weekend and evening programs.
• Experience coordinating field trips with regional school districts and community groups.
• NGSS knowledge and ability to translate to hands-on lessons.

Responsibilities

• Implements Government approved K–12 and adult educational programs and suggests improvements.
• Oversees daily education delivery in the STEM/Mission Center and Innovation Lab with Education Program Assistants and volunteers.
• Coordinates incoming school field trips, manages schedules and group flow.
• Manages setup, safety, inventory, and use of educational materials within approved funding.
• Trains docents and volunteers to assist in STEM and history programs.
