Job summary

Chicago Shakespeare Theater in Chicago, IL seeks an Associate Director of Education to provide programmatic and operational leadership across the department and collaborate with the Director of Lifelong Learning & Education. Qualifications

• Three years of work experience in arts and culture education program administration.
• Demonstrated program management, organizational and systems-keeping skills.
• Strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities.
• Supervisory experience leading a team.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Experience with databases; Tessitura is a plus.
• Ability to work Saturdays and some evenings.

Responsibilities

• Drive day-to-day administration and operations of educational programming.
• Plan, organize, implement and evaluate the Shakespeare SLAM program.
• Develop and train in databases and technology tools used by the education department.
• Manage student matinees, SLAM, Bard Core and Lifelong Learning programs.
• Facilitate post-show discussions and prepare facilitators for mix of audiences.
• Supervise the Education Associate and manage Teaching Artists payments.
• Collaborate with Front of House and Operations for staff training.
• Build and manage relationships with schools and teachers.
• Assist Development with grants and program metrics.
• Prepare impact reports for funders and ensure compliance with ISBE and CPS.
• Plan and create education communications materials with marketing.
• Advocate for programs and highlight opportunities in other departments.
