The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) seeks to create a world-class educational system that gives students the knowledge and skills to be successful in college and in the workforce, and to flourish as parents and citizens.
This is a time limited position. This position will provide administrative and program support to staff in the Office of Federal Programs. The incumbent will assist with federal program applications, budget revisions, monitoring activities, correspondence, and records management. The position will also track submissions and deadlines, coordinate meetings, and respond to routine inquiries from school districts. The incumbent will work with other MDE offices to route requests, gather information, and support shared projects. The position may also assist with preparing technical assistance materials, reports, and communications for educational stakeholders.
The applicant should have strong organizational, communication, and technology skills, demonstrate attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple deadlines while working collaboratively with staff across MDE offices. The applicant must exercise discretion when handling confidential information and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Typically requires a Master’s Degree and 3 years of experience. Hiring agency additional preferred qualifications: Experience supporting education programs or a public agency is preferred.
