Job summary

Amigos de Guadalupe in San Jose seeks a full-time Lead Education Coordinator to oversee after-school programs, supervise education staff, and partner with families and community partners to advance student success.

The role requires knowledge of Common Core standards, strong literacy and program leadership, and a commitment to equity and Radical Hospitality as part of Amigos’ 2-Gen approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; teaching credential preferred.
• Minimum two years of leadership, supervisory, or program coordination experience.
• Experience working with children in school or after-school settings.
• Experience collaborating with educational institutions and nonprofit partners.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Valid California Driver’s License required.
• Experience in racially diverse communities and low-income neighborhoods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and supervise lesson planning for academic programs.
• Teach, direct, and supervise students.
• Supervise education staff and volunteers.
• Lead regular staff meetings and ensure effective communication.
• Coach and support education staff for growth.
• Monitor performance and provide feedback.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and training.
• Maintain attendance records and support reporting.
• Manage program data entry and documentation.
• Oversight of materials, inventory, and equipment.
• Ensure student health, safety, and well-being.
• Promote compliance with policies and safety standards.
• Model professional conduct and equity-driven practices.
• Attend trainings and community events.
• Other duties as assigned.
