Job summary

Gilbert Public Schools is seeking a Buyer in the Finance department for a 12-month exempt contract. The role focuses on researching and acquiring supplies, managing bids and contracts, and ensuring compliance with procurement rules.

The successful candidate will coordinate district-wide purchases and support staff with order processing and documentation. The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years as a Buyer or related duties, a BS/BA in business or related field, and knowledge of Arizona

Qualifications

Minimum of two years' experience as a Buyer or experience performing Buyer duties for a public school or other public entity.
Education: BS/BA degree in business or related field and two years of buyer experience. Knowledge of Arizona School District Procurement Rules.

Responsibilities

Research and acquire supplies, materials, equipment and services in the most cost effective manner.
Draft, evaluate and award informal quotations and bids; manage contracts for single or multi-year requirements.
Coordinate maintenance contracts for district-wide office equipment and services; oversee bid/proposal processes.
Ensure requests comply with Arizona School District Procurement Rules and other district policies.
Respond in writing to bid protests; communicate with vendors, administrators, end-users, and staff on procurement issues.
