Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; an Associate degree is preferred.
• Pennsylvania State Police Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting.
• School Health Form, Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification, Act 126.

Responsibilities

• Assist with self-sufficiency training and maintenance of skills for children with physical disabilities.
• Assume duties of a personal care nature to enable participation in the least restrictive environment.
• Encourage, support, and educate students in daily living activities for comfort and well-being.
• Assist students in managing their environment to meet physical and psychological needs.
• Monitor incidence of health problems and psycho-social adjustment to medical conditions.
• Assist teacher or students to arrange classroom environment to meet student needs.
• Attend training sessions, in-services, workshops, and meetings as requested.
• Demonstrate cooperation and flexibility in related duties as assigned by school administration and ESS.
• Understand and adhere to ESS and school district policies and procedures.
