Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers in delivering a high-quality education to students. The role involves assisting with instruction, preparing materials, and managing classroom activities under the supervision of the Principal/Head of School.

The position is anticipated to be vacant by 10/01/2026. Preference may be given to candidates fluent in BPS official languages. Salary is determined by BTU and the applicable union/step schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Forty-eight (48) credit hours of college coursework or an Associate's Degree, or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys.
• Minimum of two years of experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trips.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
