Job description

A high-impact opportunity is available for an accomplished Education Nurse Manager ready to shape how nurses enter practice, strengthen expertise, and advance their careers. This role offers meaningful visibility across acute care operations, combining strategic influence with the opportunity to build education programs that directly affect clinical performance, workforce readiness, and patient outcomes.

The healthcare organization offers an engaged practice environment where nursing leaders are supported in making informed decisions, collaborating across disciplines, and maintaining meaningful clinician autonomy. A workplace culture centered on staffing stability and professional growth creates the foundation for effective onboarding, strong working relationships, and a sustainable long-term leadership career.

Within Nursing Education and Professional Development, the Education Nurse Manager will oversee a dynamic clinical education workflow serving new graduate and experienced RN onboarding across the acute care environment. The scope encompasses nursing education leadership, clinical competency development, clinical skills assessment, education program development, staff training and mentorship, and continuing education and professional development. This leader will promote evidence-based nursing practices while partnering with physicians, nursing leaders, educators, and frontline clinicians to advance interdisciplinary collaboration, patient safety, and quality improvement. With operational ownership of priorities, resources, and program execution, the manager will have autonomy to align competency development with real-time patient care needs and organizational goals.

Positioned within the nursing leadership structure, this manager will maintain direct visibility with executive nursing leadership while cultivating productive physician relationships and close partnerships with department leaders, clinical educators, human resources, quality, and ancillary services. Primary responsibilities include setting educational strategy, guiding educator performance, evaluating program effectiveness, and translating regulatory and operational priorities into practical learning solutions. The successful leader will use strategic influence and decision‑making authority to improve workforce capability, support nursing operations, and strengthen consistency across the continuum of care.

California’s Central Coast offers a distinctive balance of professional opportunity and everyday livability, with a mild climate, access to beaches and scenic open spaces, acclaimed dining and agriculture, and year‑round outdoor recreation. The region’s welcoming community atmosphere, family‑friendly pace, cultural offerings, and proximity to both coastal and inland destinations make it especially appealing to leaders seeking a rewarding lifestyle without sacrificing career momentum.

The Education Nurse Manager will receive a competitive, market‑aligned compensation range based on experience and qualifications, complemented by executive healthcare benefits that may include medical coverage, retirement programs, paid time off, continuing education support, and leadership development resources.
