Job description

For an accomplished nursing education leader ready to shape clinical performance at the organizational level, this Nurse Manager of Education opportunity offers meaningful visibility, broad influence, and the autonomy to build programs that strengthen both nurses and patient care. The successful leader will guide education strategy across the facility while remaining closely connected to frontline practice, emerging staff needs, and measurable clinical outcomes.

The healthcare organization provides a collaborative practice environment where nursing leadership, physicians, and ancillary teams work toward shared operational and quality goals. Stable clinical support, structured onboarding, and accessible senior leaders allow the Nurse Manager of Education to move initiatives forward efficiently. The culture values clinician judgment, accountability, and professional growth, creating an attractive platform for a leader seeking long-term career progression.

Within Nursing Education, this leader will oversee clinical education, staff development, RN education, and training for a complex long-term acute care environment. Daily priorities will include clinical staff development, nursing orientation and onboarding, competency assessments, continuing education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and nursing leadership development. With operational ownership of education workflows and support from nursing leaders, educators, physicians, and department partners, the manager will align learning plans with regulatory expectations, patient acuity, workforce priorities, and bedside performance.

Reporting through senior nursing leadership, the Nursing Education Manager will have direct access to executive decision-makers and close working relationships with nurse managers, medical staff, quality, infection prevention, human resources, and ancillary departments. Key responsibilities include evaluating educational needs, directing orientation, validating competencies, coaching clinical leaders, and translating performance trends into practical interventions. This is a high-visibility leadership role with the strategic influence to improve staff readiness, care consistency, patient outcomes, and organizational performance.

Life in the greater Southern California region brings a compelling balance of professional opportunity and year-round recreation. Coastal access, mountain escapes, celebrated dining, diverse arts and culture, and an abundance of family-friendly communities make it possible to design a lifestyle that fits different priorities. The region’s mild climate and exceptional variety remain major advantages for healthcare professionals relocating from across the country.

The hospital will offer a competitive compensation range based on relevant leadership experience, education, and credentials, with details shared early in the process.
