Job description

Turn high-acuity care into lasting impact as the Emergency Department Nurse Manager, Evening Shift, where visible leadership, technology-supported practice, professional growth, and a predictable 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM schedule create a standout Central California healthcare career.

This healthcare organization offers the scale, clinical resources, and established nursing infrastructure that an experienced ER Nurse Manager needs to lead with confidence. More than 1,200 registered nurses contribute to a culture centered on patient safety, interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership development, and professional advancement. Clinicians are supported by practical workflows and modern healthcare tools that strengthen decision-making without replacing clinical judgment. For professionals exploring hospital jobs, nursing leadership jobs, or healthcare management careers in 2026, this medical center provides the opportunity to influence care while building a long-term leadership path.

The Emergency Services Manager will help guide a high-volume Emergency Department with more than 70 beds and approximately 90,000 patient visits annually. The evening shift runs from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, placing this leader at the center of critical transitions, changing patient volumes, and fast-moving operational priorities. Within this demanding ER environment, the manager will support a well-established nursing team while strengthening communication across emergency nursing and related clinical services. Leadership development, tuition reimbursement, continuing education, support for specialty certifications and advanced degrees make this Emergency Department opportunity especially compelling for an RN leader seeking greater scope and advancement.

As the Emergency Department RN Manager, this leader will collaborate with nursing and departmental leadership while providing hands‑on operational oversight during evening hours. Responsibilities may include coordinating staffing and patient flow, supporting frontline nurses, mentoring emerging leaders, reinforcing regulatory readiness, advancing quality improvement, and promoting safe, consistent care across the ED. The Emergency Department RN Manager will also partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, technicians, case management, social work, and other hospital‑based clinicians to resolve barriers quickly and maintain effective throughput. This visible leadership model allows staff to access real‑time guidance when acuity rises or operational needs shift.

The Emergency Nursing Manager position is designed to be a meaningful next step for an accomplished RN leader rather than simply another management opening. Leadership development resources can support growth in coaching, performance improvement, workforce planning, and department operations. Tuition reimbursement, continuing education programs, and support for specialty certification or advanced‑degree goals allow the Emergency Nursing Manager to keep building expertise while helping nurses pursue their own professional ambitions. The role also offers valuable exposure to quality initiatives, staff development, interdisciplinary committees, and broader healthcare leadership priorities.

Living and working as an ED Clinical Nurse Manager in California’s Central Valley offers a practical balance of professional opportunity and access to some of the state’s most memorable landscapes. The region places residents within reach of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Sierra Nevada hiking, mountain recreation, agricultural communities, and weekend destinations throughout Central California. Housing choices and commute patterns can be more manageable than in many coastal metropolitan areas, although summer heat is a genuine consideration. Local food traditions, diverse communities, and major regional gatherings such as the 2026 World Ag Expo add distinctive character for an ED Clinical Nurse Manager seeking both career momentum and a grounded quality of life.
