Job summary

Florida Legislature in Tallahassee seeks a Legislative Analyst/Attorney to serve as a technical expert, researching and analyzing proposed legislation, drafting bills and amendments, and briefing legislators on committee issues.

Under the staff director and committee members, you will conduct in-depth analysis, prepare reports, and monitor implementation of legislation across state agencies, collaborating with teams on complex legislative projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of research/analysis or related work.
• Knowledge of legal terminology and Florida legislative rules.
• Ability to communicate clearly, write well, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze proposed legislation for accuracy and impact.
• Draft bills and amendments as needed for committee consideration.
• Brief legislators on committee issues and legislative implications.
