New York City Department of Education seeks a Special Education Case Management/LV Professional Development and Training Attorney in the Office of the General Counsel. The role develops and directs training initiatives for SECM, drafts legal opinions, and ensures compliance with the LV et al order while coordinating with multiple NYC agencies.

Under the direction of the Executive Deputy Counsel, the attorney leads leadership development, knowledge management, and policy implementation efforts,

Qualifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• One year of satisfactory United States legal experience after admission.
• Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Intern (30086).
• Teaching/training background preferred.
• Ability to interpret and communicate provisions of applicable law and regulations.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Ability to conduct legal research efficiently.
• Ability to manage time and workload independently.
• Ability to take initiative and be flexible.

Responsabilités

• Lead SECM leadership development and training initiatives.
• Develop and promote robust training for IHO, ERES, IU, and LV et al order.
• Deliver in-person and virtual trainings; ensure accessibility for diverse audiences.
• Maintain CLE accreditation and ensure compliance with LV et al compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align training with organizational goals.
• Manage training budgets and contracts; provide strategic support to leadership.
