Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in writing, editing, or communications—preferably in education, nonprofit, or journalism settings.
• Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills with AP style and tone accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with CMS and email marketing tools.
• Collaborative mindset with strong interviewing and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work occasional extended hours, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, write, and edit news stories, family profiles, and alumnae features for multiple platforms.
• Manage content for Ellis Magazine—from interviews to writing and curating materials.
• Oversee the writing, editing, and scheduling of all internal email communications to parents and guardians.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and advancement team to surface stories highlighting student, family and alumnae experiences.
• Support content updates for the School’s public website and internal intranet.
• Maintain editorial calendars and help develop messaging aligning with priorities and brand voice.
• Assist with proofreading and editing other school materials as needed.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive school community and collaborate with colleagues, students, and families.
