Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks an Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources to plan, direct, and evaluate all HR programs and services across a large school district. This role serves as liaison between the Board of Education, Superintendent, and HR, with weekly Monday–Friday Schedule and occasional evenings.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree and have extensive experience in education or HR, including at least five years in a managerial role.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, public administration, business administration, or closely related field.
• Ten years of education or human resources experience.
• Five years of managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs HR goals, plans, and program implementations across departments.
• Advises Superintendent and boards on personnel issues and policy.
• Leads recruitment, hiring, and retention of administrators and staff.
• Ensures compliance with laws, policies, and fair processes.
• Presents reports and coordinates with stakeholders.
