Job summary

School of Science and Technology seeks a Teacher Fellow for SST South Campuses in Houston. The role provides classroom coverage when teachers are absent and supports campus-wide duties. This position acts as a talent pipeline for future full-time teaching openings within the district.

Requires a Bachelor's degree or active pursuit, and eligibility to enroll in a teacher certification program. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, plus basic computer and office software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required or actively pursuing degree.
• Eligible to enroll in a teacher certification program is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction based on provided lesson plans and objectives.
• Cover classrooms campus-wide when the assigned teacher is absent.
• Manage student behavior and classroom routines.
• Take attendance and complete required documentation.
• Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and campus leadership.
• Work collaboratively with experienced teachers to strengthen instructional planning and classroom practices.
• Communicate with administration on coverage needs.
• Attend required staff meetings and professional development.
• Step into full-time teaching roles as openings arise.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
