Job summary

Sylvan Learning in Portage, IN is seeking a Director of Education to lead teacher training, coaching, and program delivery across our center. This leadership role demands strong communication, organization, and a passion for helping students succeed.

You will schedule staff, monitor progress, partner with the Center Director, and drive family engagement while managing operations and ensuring Sylvan standards. Experience with education administration and credentialed teaching is preferred.

Qualifications

• Teaching credentials required, current or expired.
• Strong multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee teacher training and certification to deliver Sylvan programs.
• Observe and coach instructional staff to meet Sylvan guidelines.
• Ensure initial and ongoing progress assessments are administered.
• Schedule and manage teaching staff to meet center needs.
• Monitor student progress and coordinate family conference activities.
• Drive family retention and center sales growth with the Director.
• Teach 20–50% of time and develop teaching staff.
