Job summary

Attack Theatre in Pittsburgh seeks a Director of Education & Community Engagement to provide strategic vision and lead all educational and community programs, from PreK–12 residencies to university partnerships.

The role oversees curriculum design, teaching artist growth, partnerships, budgets, and grant support, with a commitment to equity, accessibility, and community-centered art-making; primarily in-person with some remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience in dance/performing arts education, arts administration, community outreach, and/or program management.
• Teaching & Curriculum: Expertise in PreK-12 dance/movement pedagogy, curriculum integration, and creative movement for diverse ages and abilities.
• Management & Partnership: Track record in recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating teaching artists and managing partnerships with schools or community organizations.
• Skills: Excellent partner-relationship, project and budget management, written and verbal communication; proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Canva, and scheduling/registration software.
• Work Schedule: Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and program management for educational and community initiatives.
• Oversee PreK–12 residencies, higher education partnerships, and community programs.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate teaching artists; ensure compliance and training.
• Develop partnerships with schools, universities, and community centers; manage budgets and fundraising data.
• Serve as internal/external ambassador and support audience engagement and donor stewardship.
