Artistic Director – The Becoming Arts Collective

Overview

The Becoming Arts Collective seeks a visionary Artistic Director to lead the creative direction of the company. The role shapes theatrical productions, guides artistic teams, and ensures the highest standards of creative excellence.

Compensation

• Base pay: $3,500.00 – $10,000.00 per year (role stipend‑based)
• Part‑time, seasonal; three‑season production cycle from August to January
• Bonus structure tied to achieved metrics (annual bonus)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead artistic vision and direction of all theatrical productions.
• Select and develop plays in collaboration with the Managing Director.
• Hire, mentor, and oversee directors, actors, production teams, and staff.
• Collaborate with directors, playwrights, and production teams to ensure artistic quality and cohesion.
• Lead casting and oversee master rehearsal schedules.
• Develop and curate educational programming, classes, and mentorship programs.
• Executive direct the Bridges and Stages festival (script selection, scheduling, casting, recruiting).
• Represent the company publicly; participate in fundraising events and community engagement initiatives.
• Ensure alignment between artistic goals and financial realities in coordination with leadership.
