Job summary

The Florentine Opera seeks an Education & Community Engagement Manager to oversee and design its learning and community-centered programs for audiences from youth to lifelong learners in the Greater Milwaukee area.

You will lead Opera in Schools tours, in-class residencies, touring recital series, and virtual education initiatives while collaborating with the Head of Music, Artistic Administrator, and Development teams to expand access and impact.

Qualifications

• Degree in Music Education or related field preferred.
• Experience in arts education and nonprofit arts administration.
• Strong knowledge of vocal music, opera production, and curriculum design.
• Ability to teach basic music to students of all ages.
• Multilingual ability preferred: conversational Spanish and basic proficiency in French, German, and Italian.
• Experience with digital media production or video editing is a plus.
• Proven ability to build partnerships with schools and communities.
• Excellent project management, scheduling, and administrative skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and public speaking ability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the Education/Community Engagement intern.
• Coordinate the community engagement calendar with production resources.
• Assist Development with data, metrics, and program narratives for grants.
• Collaborate with Marketing on promotional materials and digital outreach.
• Prepare reports on program reach and demographics for Education Committee and Board.
