The Erie Philharmonic invites applications for Education & Community Engagement Manager, a dynamic opportunity to lead the Philharmonic’s growing portfolio of educational and community programs across schools, theaters, and the region.

The Manager serves as the primary staff owner of the education and community engagement portfolio, coordinating with musicians, educators, volunteers, and partners to plan, staff, communicate, deliver, and evaluate programs, while supervising the Ensembles

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in arts administration, education, music education, community engagement, nonprofit programming, or a related field
  • Excellent organizational and project-management skills with ability to multi-task across programs and partners
  • Must pass all background checks and clearances required for working with children and youth
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to build positive relationships with educators, students, families, musicians, volunteers
  • Ability to coordinate work across departments and engage colleagues with the appropriate expertise
  • Creativity and curiosity about how an orchestra can serve its community; growth-minded mindset

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, administration, and ongoing development of Erie Philharmonic’s K–12 education programs
  • Oversee Youth Concerts at the Warner Theatre and coordinate curriculum development, registration, communications, transportation, seating, volunteers, and concert-day logistics
  • Manage long-term residency Pre-K programs and Grow Up Great initiatives
  • Lead BRAVO! connections between students and Philharmonic musicians
  • Coordinate school visits, master classes, demonstrations, and other educational activities with Philharmonic musicians and guest artists
  • Develop community engagement activities beyond the concert hall and foster partnerships with schools and cultural organizations
  • Supervise the Ensembles Coordinator and collaborate to connect education programs with Chorus and Junior Philharmonic
  • Plan Summer Music Camp logistics, budgeting, staffing, and marketing with Marketing and ensembles leadership
  • Maintain annual calendar of programs and measure reach, impact, and outcomes
  • Prepare program descriptions and impact stories for grants and donor communications
  • Travel within Erie region to promote access and engagement
