The Oklahoma City Philharmonic is seeking an Education Assistant to support education programming for schools, youth, and adults. You will assist the Education Manager with planning, promotion, registration, logistics, and surveys, working with multiple departments to achieve program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Education programs and activities.
  • Maintain a database of community contacts, teachers, instructors, and participants.
  • Communicate with teachers, program participants, stakeholders, and prospects via phone and email to promote the OKCPHIL's programs in schools.
  • Track registration of Youth Concerts, Rhythm on the Road, and We've Got Rhythm.
  • Maintain records of Education and Community Engagement activities.
  • Assist in the planning and booking of musician ensembles and communicate with ensemble leaders.
  • Assist in distributing surveys evaluating the effectiveness of Education programs.
  • Provide the Development department with relevant information about program attendance.
  • Register volunteers for Education programs for Discovery Concerts and Young Musician Competition.
  • Assist during setup and volunteer arrival for Discovery Family, Youth Concerts, Society of Strings and lobby activities.
  • Attend Education programs, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The OKCPHIL offers educational programming for schools, young people and adults. The Education Assistant is responsible for assisting the Education Manager with planning, promotion, registration, logistics and surveys for the Education programs of the OKCPHIL. This position works collaboratively with other departments to achieve the goals of the Education programs of the OKCPHIL.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma, some college preferred

SKILLS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and stooping
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
