Job summary

YWCA of Metro St. Louis seeks an experienced early childhood education coach to work with teaching staff. You will provide guidance, training, and intensive coaching to raise classroom quality and align practices with licensing and Head Start standards.

You will help teachers implement curriculum, develop weekly lesson plans, and engage families in learning. The role emphasizes using Practice Based Coaching, collecting evidence for portfolios, and improving child outcomes.

Qualifications

• Four-year college education in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (Birth-5).
• At least 6 years of experience in early childhood education, preferably as a teacher.
• Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Experience coaching teachers and improving classroom practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess teaching staff to identify strengths and training needs; provide coaching and technical support.
• Develop and monitor Professional Development Plans using resources like ELOF and CLASS.
• Implement weekly coaching with observations and modeling of effective practices.
• Ensure quality education services and accurate record-keeping of child progress.
• Support teachers with curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and parental involvement.
