Job summary

Dannis Woliver Kelley, a mid-sized education law firm with statewide practice representing school and community college districts, seeks an attorney to join its Charter and Litigation practice groups. The hybrid position offers the chance to work on landmark cases benefiting students across California and to contribute to public entity representation.

Candidates should have at least four years of professional experience, including dispute resolution and litigation, with California Bar admission.

Qualifications

• Dispute resolution experience required, including mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials
• Strong case management skills, including ability and initiative to lead matters, manage deadlines and move matters forward
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
• Flexibility, initiative, and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters arising in representing public entities
• Prior experience with charter matters, civil rights, special education, insurance defense or personal injury defense preferred
• Education law experience and/or public entity experience a plus
• Two years of litigation experience required
• Admission to the California State Bar
