Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Pennsylvania Department of Education is seeking an Education Certification Evaluator to review applications, issue certifications, respond to educator inquiries, and staff the Certification Call Center.

You will evaluate coursework and test scores, ensure compliance with laws and procedures, and guide applicants through the certification process. Telework may be available part-time, with standard hours and Harrisburg office availability.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clerical experience with three months data entry/retrieval on a computer terminal and six months experience with educational credential certification laws.

Responsibilities

• Review certification applications and assess test scores, coursework, and experience for compliance.
• Approve applications and issue certifications; request missing information as needed.
• Monitor pending applications in the Teacher Information Management System and communicate with schools.
• Respond to educator inquiries and guide them through the certification process.
• Staff the Certification Call Center to provide information and assistance to callers.
• Help users navigate PDE systems and assist in problem resolution.
