Job summary

The Pennsylvania Department of Education seeks an Education Certification Evaluator to support the Division of Teacher Certification by reviewing applications, issuing certifications, and guiding educators and partners through the process.

You will review applications, test scores, coursework, and experience for compliance; approve certifications; monitor pending applications in the Teacher Information Management System; respond to educator inquiries; staff the Certification Call Center; and

Qualifications

• One year of clerical experience with three months experience in direct data entry/retrieval on a computer terminal and six months experience with educational credential certification laws, rules, and regulations.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate certification applications, test scores, coursework, and experience for compliance with rules.
• Approve applications, issue certifications, and request missing information when needed.
• Monitor pending applications in the Teacher Information Management System and communicate with schools.
• Respond to daily questions from educators and guide them through the certification process.
• Staff the Certification Call Center to provide information and assistance to callers.
• Help users navigate PDE systems, report issues, and support problem resolution efforts.
