Job summary

The Salvation Army Oakland Chinatown Corps Education Center is seeking a Program Assistant to help provide a safe, loving, and learning environment for its programs, including Chinese language and music/instrument learning, under the supervision of the Corps Officer or Education Center Supervisor.

The role supports children’s development, assists in planning lessons, and helps with indoor and outdoor activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 15 with valid work permit.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical activities.

Responsibilities

• Relate to children in a manner that supports personal growth.
• Plan and carry out lesson plans for Chinese language and music learning.
• Assist educational activities and supervise games and learning activities.
• Work cooperatively with the Corps Officer / Education Center supervisor.
• Adhere to Protecting the Mission Policy for Work with Minors.
