Job summary

Reclamation and Restoration Ministries, Inc. is seeking an Education/Social Skills Trainer to prepare Project participants for HiSET and GED/HiSET tests, guiding them toward higher education and better opportunities.

The role includes leading monthly social skills trainings and coordinating with local institutions in Baton Rouge. The trainer will conduct pre-tests, support peer training for at-risk youth, and deliver literacy, skill-based development and leadership activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and valid Louisiana teaching credential.
• Valid Louisiana Driver's License.
• 3–5 years of teaching experience at elementary, high school, or college level.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic math and test-taking to prepare participants for HiSET.
• Help participants pass GED/HiSET tests and access higher education opportunities.
• Conduct monthly Best Practices for social skills training and skill-based interventions during group sessions.
• Guide youth in peer training at community service project sites.
• Conduct pre-tests to prepare participants for social/life skills assessments.

Job description

Teach basic math and test-taking to prepare Project participants to successfully pass the tests of General Education Development (HiSET) and receive a Credential.

Help open the doors to higher education, better job opportunities, and increased standards of living.

Conduct monthly Best Practices for Social Skills Training and Skill-based Interventions during the monthly Group Training Sessions for Project participants.

Guide Project youth in conducting Peer Training for at-risk youth at a Community Service Project Site.

Conduct pre-tests and test-taking to prepare Project participants to successfully pass the tests of Social/Life Skills.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree and current valid Louisiana Teaching Credential
• Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License at time of appointment
• 3 to 5 Years as a teacher in Elementary, High school, or College level.

The Education/Social Skills Trainer shall provide literacy, education, skill-based, relationship building, leadership development and service-learning opportunities for youth Project participants and develop a strategy to provide appropriate educational opportunities in partnership with local educational institutions.
