Job summary

The Academic Advisor reports to the Assistant Director of the Office of Student Services and is responsible for delivering comprehensive academic advising to all education majors, including IMCP and Terrapin Teacher candidates. The role supports New Student Orientation and assists prospective graduate students.

It also involves monitoring degree progress, contributing to data reporting on admissions and enrollment trends, and collaborating on recruitment efforts and committee work within EDUC.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive academic advising to all education majors, including IMCP and Terrapin Teacher candidates.
• Contribute to campus New Student Orientation programs and provide general advising support to prospective graduate students.
• Monitor student progress toward degree completion in alignment with college benchmarks and assist with data reporting on admissions, enrollment trends, and projections.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director on recruitment efforts both on and off campus and participate in departmental and college committees.
