Job summary

Pilobolus seeks an Education Administrator to support the growth and daily operations of Pilobolus’s education and community engagement programs. The role partners with the Education Director to organize, document, and grow programs at the intersection of arts education, movement, and collaboration.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, warm, and flexible, with strong administrative skills and some experience in education, dance, or youth development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in arts administration, education administration, nonprofit programming, community arts, dance education, youth development, or related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead project workflows while managing multiple projects, deadlines, and relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating schedules, calendars, meetings, teaching artist assignments, program timelines, and partner communications.
  • Preparing and organizing program materials, including waivers, rosters, schedules, surveys, study guides, lesson materials, and partner-facing documents.
  • Maintaining clear records for education programs, including contracts, attendance, participant information, teaching artist paperwork, and program notes.
  • Supporting logistics for programs, including transportation, space needs, materials, and daily schedules.
  • Communicating with schools, presenters, community partners, teaching artists, and internal staff to ensure programs are well organized and clearly supported.
  • Assisting with Teaching Artist communication, onboarding, training logistics, scheduling, and follow-up.
  • Helping document programs through notes, participant feedback, teaching artist reflections, testimonials, photos, and written summaries.
  • Supporting the collection and organization of program data for grant reports, board reports, donor updates, marketing materials, and internal evaluation.
  • Researching potential partner organizations, including schools, community agencies, senior centers, colleges, cultural institutions, and health or wellness organizations.
  • Supporting Pilobolus’s development, marketing, touring, finance, and artistic teams as needed.
  • When qualified and appropriate, assisting in workshops, classes, or community programs as a support teacher, movement facilitator, or program aide

Pilobolus seeks an Education Administrator to support the growth and daily operations of Pilobolus’s education and community engagement programs.

For more than 50 years, Pilobolus has helped people experience the creative power of the body and the collaborative potential of groups. Today, our education programs bring that work to students, educators, older adults, communities, and organizations across the country.

The Education Administrator will work closely with the Education Director to help organize, support, document, and grow Pilobolus’s education programs. This is a key support role for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, warm, flexible, and excited by the intersection of arts education, movement, community engagement, and creative collaboration.

The ideal candidate will bring strong administrative skills and some experience in education, dance, theater, youth development, community programming, or a related field. This role is primarily administrative and program-coordination focused, with opportunities to assist with program facilitation when appropriate.

Qualifications

Strong candidates will have:

  • Experience in arts administration, education administration, nonprofit programming, community arts, dance education, youth development, or a related field
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead project workflows while managing multiple projects, deadlines, and relationships simultaneously
  • Comfort communicating with schools, community partners, artists, families, and internal staff
  • Interest in dance, movement, theater, embodied learning, or collaborative creative practice
  • Some experience teaching, assisting, facilitating, or supporting educational programs
  • Comfort working with people of different ages, abilities, backgrounds, and movement experiences
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, shared calendars, and basic administrative systems
  • A collaborative, flexible, and generous working style
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for programs, trainings, site visits, or events

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience as a teaching artist, assistant teacher, classroom aide, rehearsal assistant, camp counselor, community facilitator, or arts educator
  • Experience working in schools, senior centers, community organizations, disability-serving organizations, or intergenerational programs
  • Experience with curriculum documentation, program evaluation, surveys, or grant reporting
  • Background in dance, theater, movement, somatic practice, physical education, or community-based arts
About the Role

This position will be paid at $20/hour with an estimated 25 hours per week. Paid Time Off is accrued based on hours worked. This position is not eligible for fringe benefits.

Pilobolus is based in Washington, Connecticut. This position will include work at Pilobolus’s office/studio, remote administrative work as appropriate, and occasional travel for programs and events.
