Job summary

Macmillan Learning seeks a Contracts & Privacy Manager to evaluate and negotiate purchase agreements for textbooks, Achieve platform access, and PD services with K-12 and Higher Ed districts. You’ll lead privacy terms to FERPA and COPPA standards and keep the contract repository audit-ready.

This remote role with a preference for the Austin, TX area partners with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Info Security to move deals, track KPIs, and ensure metadata accuracy. Salary range $105k–$130k/year.

Qualifications

• 6+ years evaluating, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements in EdTech, K-12/Higher Ed procurement.
• Experience evaluating customer agreements for educational software, LMS platforms, print/digital materials, and PD services.
• Hands-on experience with district Data Protection Agreements and student data privacy addenda.
• Strong ability to upload, index, and maintain metadata in Contract Lifecycle Management systems (DocuSign CLM, Salesforce, Conga).
• Proven ability to build contract status reports and track turnaround metrics.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (Track Changes) and e-signature platforms like DocuSign.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and negotiate purchase agreements, Master Service Agreements, and terms of sale for textbooks, Achieve platform access, and PD engagements.
• Own data privacy terms and ensure FERPA/COPPA compliance.
• Review district RFPs and bid packages; apply pre-approved exception language; clarify terms.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Information Security; resolve redlines to protect the business.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready contract repository with accurate metadata and folder structures.
• Build recurring and ad-hoc contract reports for sales leadership, customer success, and management; track KPIs.
• Monitor upcoming subscription end dates and license expirations; communicate renewal timelines to internal teams.
