Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Readjustment Counselor to provide psychosocial assessments, counseling, and care coordination for Veterans and their families.

The role includes risk assessment, treatment planning, and collaboration with Vet Center services to ensure comprehensive support. The position requires an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, state licensure for independent practice, and experience in psychotherapeutic modalities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited school.
• Licensed or certified to independently practice social work at the master’s level.
• Doctoral degree cannot substitute for MSW.
• Verification of degree via CSWE website.

Responsibilities

• Provide readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active duty members, and families.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop service plans.
• Coordinate care and referrals to community resources.
• Offer crisis intervention and risk assessment when needed.
• Document all clinical interactions and coordination efforts.
