Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Social Worker to perform psychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide diverse counseling services for veterans and families. Qualifications

• MSW from CSWE-accredited school is required.
• Must be licensed or certified to independently practice social work.
• US citizenship; English proficiency in accordance with VA policy.
• State licensure guidance and renewal timelines provided.
• Documentation of licensure status where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments to determine veteran needs.
• Perform intake assessments for substance use disorder treatment.
• Participate in treatment planning with a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide individual, family, and group counseling as appropriate.
• Coordinate transitions/discharge plans and ensure timely execution.
• Document therapy interventions in CPRS; coordinate internal transfers.
• Provide case management across the continuum of care.
• Offer evening services once per week.
