Job summary

US-Department-of-Veterans-Affair is seeking a Social Worker at the GS-12 level to provide psychosocial assessments, counseling, and case management for Veterans in community settings. The role requires a CSWE-accredited MSW, state licensure (or planned licensure) and adherence to English language requirements.

Eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) with program support and potential loan repayment benefits; extensive travel in the duty area may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited school.
• Licensed or certified to practice social work at the master's level; licensure may be waived at GS-9, but required for GS-11+.
• English proficiency in speaking and writing as required by VA policy.
• U.S. citizenship required; some non-citizens may be considered per VA policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessments and counseling within specialty treatment programs.
• Deliver evidence-based psychosocial interventions and case management services.
• Mentor or supervise social workers and contribute to program development and evaluation.
• Travel within community settings to meet the needs of Veterans as required.
