Job summary

heyco, a PennEngineering company, is seeking a skilled EDM Wire Machine Operator / Toolmaker in Toms River, NJ. You will program, set up, and operate wire EDM machines to create tooling and precision components, ensuring tight tolerances and high quality.

Qualifications

• EDM certification or 3–5 years of hands-on wire EDM experience.
• Experience with Charmilles wire EDM machines preferred.
• Proficient in CAM programming (Espirit preferred).
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate wire EDM machines to manufacture tooling, dies, and precision components
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate machining
• Perform edits and adjustments to programs as needed to optimize performance and quality
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications
• Troubleshoot machine or process issues and make necessary corrections; maintain documentation
• Work with engineering and toolroom teams on new tooling and process improvements
• Perform routine maintenance and keep machines and work area clean and organized
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
