EDM Set-Up Operator, Westford, MA, F/T Direct Hire, $35 -$40 pr/hr

We are seeking an experienced EDM Set-Up Person/Operator to join our clients growing manufacturing team in Westford, MA. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist with experience in Wire EDM, Conventional EDM, and/or Hole Popper operations who takes pride in producing high-quality, precision components.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Wire EDM, Conventional EDM, and/or Hole Popper equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, process sheets, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Load and verify programs for repeat jobs.
• Confirm revision levels and documentation accuracy before production.
• Install fixtures, mount workpieces, and select appropriate wire materials and diameters.
• Perform machine setups and initiate machining operations.
• Monitor machine controls and verify operating parameters according to setup documentation.
• Conduct first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Obtain Quality Inspector approval before production runs.
• Support EDM operators and assist with troubleshooting and workflow improvements.
• Maintain accurate production documentation and departmental records.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
