Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Nashua, NH is seeking an EDM Machinist to program and operate wire, sinker, and hole-drilling EDM machines to produce a wide variety of precision parts.

You will develop programs, design fixtures, set up workpieces, and operate related machinery to meet tight tolerances and finish requirements. The role requires EDM experience, DP Esprit programming, and solid modeling tool proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-year Machine Tool degree or certificate preferred.
• Minimum 2 years EDM experience, preferably in a tool & die environment.
• Minimum 2 years programming experience preferably with DP Esprit.
• Proficiency using solid modeling tools (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.)
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to self-start and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain EDM equipment.
• Experience with precision machining and EDM equipment.
• Familiarity with aluminum, tool steel, stainless steel, copper, and other alloys.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Create programs for a variety of EDM machines, including wire, sinker, and hole drilling machines.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and EDM programming data.
• Set up and operate EDM machines (wire, sinker, and hole-drilling EDM).
• Monitor machining processes and inspect finished parts.
• Maintain machinery and conduct minor repairs or adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
