Job summary

Dynomax, Inc. is seeking an EDM Machinist - Mold Repair to repair high-precision injection mold tools. You will analyze specifications, set up and operate machine tools, and ensure tolerances match design intent.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Mold Maker or EDM Machinist experience, proficiency in injection mold tooling, and the ability to work with +/- .0002” tolerance. Tools include Wire/Sinker EDM, milling, and surface grinding; a microscope may be used for inspection.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Mold Maker or EDM Machinist experience.
• Proficiency in injection mold tooling.
• Proficiency in tight tolerance Wire and Sinker EDM machining; milling/grinding experience helpful.
• Ability to work within tolerances of +/- .0002” daily.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications; use GD&T.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment including a microscope.

Responsibilities

• Visualize and compute dimensions and tolerances based on specifications.
• Study blueprints or specifications and use GD&T to plan sequences of operations for mold components.
• Perform machining operations on tool room equipment: Wire and Sinker EDM, milling, surface grinders.
• Verify dimensions and clearances with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and microscopes.
• Perform bench and assembly operations including filing, grinding, shimming, and adjusting to finish the project.

EDM MACHINIST - MOLD REPAIR

For 40 years, Dynomax, Inc., a family owned business, has designed, manufactured, and developed high-precision machined components, injection molding and tooling, sub-assemblies, automated work cells, specialty machines, and machine tool spindles. We are looking for an EDM Machinist - Mold Repair who will repair high precision injection mold tools. This includes analyzing specifications, setting up and operating machine tools.

EDM Machinist - Mold Repair Responsibilities

• Visualize and compute dimensions and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications
• Study blueprints or specifications and use GD&T to plan sequences of operations for the manufacturing of mold components
• Perform machining operations and set-up on tool room equipment such as Wire and Sinker EDM, milling equipment and surface grinders
• Verify dimensions, alignments, smoothness and clearances of finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators and microscopes
• Perform critical bench and assembly operations including filing, grinding, shimming, and adjusting to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble and ultimately finish project

What we are looking for in a EDM Machinist - Mold Repair

• Minimum 3 years Mold Maker or EDM Machinist experience
• Proficiency in injection mold tooling
• Proficiency in tight tolerance Wire and Sinker EDM machining required. Experience with manual milling and grinding equipment, processes and techniques preferred
• Ability to work within tolerances of +/-.0002” on a daily basis
• Ability to work from drawings, verbal instructions, and specifications to produce precision parts
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment including a microscope
