Safran Seats in Gainesville, Texas, is seeking an Engineering Development Lab Technician (Dress Cover/Patternmaker) to contribute to aerospace projects with pattern layout and building using pattern making software.

The role requires 1–2 years in pattern making, ability to read blueprints, and basic MS Office skills, with a focus on precision and quality workmanship in a dynamic, safety‑driven team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years experience in pattern making and general assembly.
• Basic computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Must be able to read and review blueprints and written communication.
• Ability to generate written communication and operate office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Works from complete blueprints and other written and verbal instructions.
• Responsible for layout and building of complete patterns using Pattern Making software.
• Sets up and cuts patterns to close tolerances.
• Reverse-engineer a product within the statement of work.
• Work with Cushion Development and vendors to maintain patterns to latest revisions.
• Maintains a high quality of workmanship and accountability for work performed.
• Maintains records and locations of patterns on tracking system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
