Job summary

Coastal Carolina University is seeking a Graphic Designer (Student Assistant) to shape the visual appearance and style of The Chanticleer print newspaper. You will contribute visual content including photos and layouts, working with editors to produce high-quality print and digital products.

The role requires excellence in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, with knowledge of AP style being a plus. This is a paid student position within the Dean of Students Office.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA.
• Must be a full-time student (minimum 12 semester hours) and not on academic or disciplinary probation.
• Must be enrolled in ARTD 202 or have completed the class.
• May not hold an elected or appointed position with the Student Government Association, including class officer positions.

Responsibilities

• Work with editors on artistic direction of print products.
• Collaborate with leadership to present news content with effective designs.
• Serve as right hand of the editor in chief to ensure production flow of the print paper.
• Participate in monthly newspaper distribution.
• Handle layout and design for all newspaper issues.
