Job summary

HarperCollins Christian Publishing seeks an Editorial Project Manager to oversee metadata and title setups in MDM while coordinating editorial tasks and freelance work from Acquisition Editors through the production process.

You will support Executive Managing Editor, manage freelance relationships, and help schedule softcover conversions and reprint corrections, collaborating with Production, Content Design, and Operations. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Advanced use of Microsoft Office required.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience; publishing/editorial PM preferred.
• B.A. in English or related field; or equivalent job experience.
• Knowledge of publishing industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Data Management & Integrity: Perform title setups in MDM and manage changes to product records; log Jira tickets as needed.
• Editorial Support & Freelance Management: Provide format proofreading, prepress checks, and manage freelance assignments; negotiate rates.
• Project & Special Initiatives Management: Manage softcover conversions; set up schedules in Microsoft Project; oversee reprint corrections.
• Team Meeting & Catalog Support: Prepare Pub Board and Sales Conference materials; support catalog development and data checks.
• Cover & Packaging Review: Oversee cover routing in RSuite; proofread packaging text and product labels; handle advance copies.
• Editorial Collaboration & Process Optimization: Attend bi-weekly rounds; share training and best practices; update tools and processes.
