Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking an Editorial Manager (Business Disciplines) to lead content strategy and development across enterprise-level offerings. You will recruit authors, define scope, and negotiate terms, while ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality, career-focused learning experiences aligned with the Cengage Learning Platform.

You will manage cross-functional teams, analyze market needs, and drive content innovations to sustain revenue growth.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree required.
• 3+ years in portfolio/product management, product development, sales, marketing, or related management role.
• Ability to inspire change through influence; strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
• Validated written and verbal abilities for senior level presentations.

Responsibilities

• Own the difficulty content strategy and roadmap, including new course entry investment proposals.
• Handle portfolio content budget (P&L) to profitably grow content offerings.
• Develop strategy for high-impact courses grounded in market knowledge and customer needs.
• Evaluate data, financial metrics, customer feedback, and trends to guide decisions.
• Regularly analyze portfolio plans to assess progress and evolve strategy.
• Establish strategy, specs, and timelines for content development; own budgets and scope.
• Translate priorities into end-to-end development plans with budgets and metrics.
• Deliver quality learning experiences that improve student outcomes.
• Propose content updates aligned with CLP capabilities and platform innovations.
• Create and maintain portfolio strategy artifacts and planning materials.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Research to set market research strategy.
