InterVarsity Press is seeking an Editorial Associate in Lisle, IL. The role supports the editorial department with manuscript tasks, proofreading, and production prep, with potential focus on IVP’s academic books requiring biblical Hebrew and Greek expertise.

The position offers a hybrid/remote arrangement by agreement and involves coordinating freelancers, indexes, and marketing materials while ensuring deadlines are met.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in humanities, journalism, publishing, writing, or related field required; graduate work preferred.
• Minimum three years of publishing experience with editorial manuscript tasks.
• Experience reviewing copyedited and proofread manuscripts and preparing files for production.
• Knowledge of biblical Hebrew and Greek preferred; familiarity with CMOS 18th edition.

Aufgaben

• Review copyedited and proofread manuscripts; copyediting as needed.
• Enter and review corrections; format files for production with production team.
• Manage freelancer pool; provide feedback and screen applicants.
• Edit and review indexes; proof digital books and ebooks.
• Process and proof book covers and data; coordinate interior images.
• Prepare endorsements and proofreading for publicity materials; other duties as required.
