  • Assist supervisors in the acquisition process by evaluating manuscripts and proposals; drafting rejection letters; preparing acquisition materials; conducting sales research; creating P&Ls; drafting Acquisition Memos and contract paperwork.
  • Transmits manuscripts and coordinates the publication process by liaising with other departments.
  • Provides administrative and editorial support and assists in coordinating the publication process from manuscript to book.
  • Drafts correspondence, memos, and completes internal forms; masters intranet programs.

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Editorial Assistant to join the HarperOne Group!The Editorial Assistant will provide administrative and editorial support for two editors on a variety of nonfiction titles including narrative nonfiction, essay collections, memoir, personal development, spirituality, and health and wellness.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains communication with authors and agents.
  • Under close supervision, drafts jacket copy, flap copy, sales notes, and fact sheets.
  • Assist supervisors in the acquisition process by reading and evaluating manuscripts and proposals, drafting rejection letters, preparing acquisition materials, as well as conducting sales research, creating P&Ls, Acquisition Memos, and drafting contract paperwork.
  • Transmits manuscripts and coordinates the publication process by liaising with other departments.
  • Provides administrative and editorial support and assists in coordinating the publication process from manuscript to book.
  • Drafts correspondence, memos, and completes internal forms; masters intranet programs.
